Business Manager’s Update on Pay Increase Allocations

May 19, 2020

Dear 393 Members,

On March 23, 2020, UA General President Mark McManus sent a correspondence to all UA Business Managers regarding wage allocation during the coronavirus pandemic. You can read the letter here.

The correspondence gave each Business Manager authority to determine the allocation of their collectively bargained pay increases on a tentative basis. However, I thought it would be irresponsible for me to determine this allocation without input from our members. On May 5, 2020, I sent an email to the negotiating committee members, a few 393 member leaders, and our trust fund plan professionals. In the email, I asked them to provide me with suggestions of allocation amounts to the different buckets comprising our total wage package. With that information, a hybrid allocation based on their recommendations was developed. A Zoom meeting was held on May 18, 2020, with everyone included in the email.

Below is a breakdown of the agreed wage allocation derived from that meeting. This wage increase will be effective July 1, 2020.

During the coronavirus pandemic, we have been providing our members with updated information to help them navigate this crisis. This is done via email blasts and communications posted on our website (www.ualocal393.org).

Please make sure you have all of the pertinent information we have provided by reading the communications posted on our website beginning March 16, 2020.

In Solidarity,
Steve Flores
