Dear Local 393 Members,
Here are some union updates:

No appointment, doctor’s note, insurance or payment, nor documentation is required–just show up.
Additionally, Anthem Blue Cross members can find a testing site near them at this link. Please note that different sites have different requirements.
Kaiser members are directed to start by scheduling an e-visit appointment with their primary doctor. The primary doctor will then provide further instructions.
You can find general COVID-19 resources here.
Catch Your Union Brother Adam Rule on the Brotherhood Outdoors Season Premiere!
Local 393 member, U.S. Army veteran, third-generation union steamfitter, and life-long outdoorsman Adam Rule will be the center of the season premiere of Brotherhood Outdoors on the Sportsman Channel! Airing the week of June 29, the episode features Adam targeting Saskatchewan, Canada, and white-fronted geese for the first time in his life.
Each week, Brotherhood Outdoors invites a hardworking union member on an action-packed hunting or fishing adventure. Then the cameras follow guests back to their homes and workplaces for glimpses into the real lives of these hardworking union members who are as dedicated to their jobs as they are to the great outdoors.
Catch all the action of Adam’s waterfowl hunt on the Sportsman Channel on June 30 at 1pm, July 3 at 8:30am, July 4 at 10:30pm, or Sunday, July 5, at 8am Pacific. Click here or on the image above for a sneak peek!
Campaign for a Secure Future Updates
Improve Public Participation at San Jose City Hall!
In recent months, many UA 393 members have participated in virtual meetings with elected officials to advocate for good union jobs and protect our work. It can be challenging for the public to engage in these important discussions, and changes are needed to improve the virtual meeting experience.
Please send an email to city.clerk@sanjoseca.gov requesting support for the proposal by San Jose Councilmember Raul Peralez to improve the public engagement process. The deadline to submit your email is Wednesday, June 24 at 12pm.
Here’s a sample message:
Subject: Agenda Item #7
Dear San Jose Rules Committee:
Please support the memo from Councilmember Peralez. I want my voice heard at City Hall and these improvements will make it easier to participate in the public process.
Thanks for your support.
CSF Meeting
The next CSF meeting is Wednesday, August 5, at 4:30pm. The program will feature guest speakers, including Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese.
If you want to attend this virtual meeting, please email RSVP@local393.org (or just reply to this email) to receive the Zoom link.
Apprentices can currently earn community service hours two ways: a documented blood donation or attending a CSF meeting.
In solidarity,
Steve Flores
