Dear UA Local 393 Sisters and Brothers:
The election for UA Local Union 393 officers and committee members will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 8:00 p.m. at the Local 393 union hall, located at 6150 Cottle Road, San Jose, CA.
You received a notification and a sample ballot in the mail. It looked like this:
**Please note that all voting is in-person only.**
ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE: All initiated members of UA Local Union 393, other than first, second, and third year apprentices, who have been in good standing for the period of one (1) year immediately prior to the date of the election (12/08/2021) are eligible to vote.
IDENTIFICATION: Members are required to present their UA membership card at the time they receive their ballot on Election Day. In the absence of this requirement, you can appeal to the Election Committee for a waiver of the UA membership card.
The current Election Committee is: President – Jim Johnston, Chairman – Vince Audino, Co-Chairman – John Dodds and Election Judge – Les Haraguchi.
TIE VOTE: In the event of a tie and a runoff is necessary, the runoff election will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Voting will be from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:00 p.m. at the Local 393 union hall located at 6150 Cottle Road, San Jose, CA.
CAMPAIGNING INFORMATION: As required by the U.S. Department of Labor, on Election Day, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, there will be no campaigning of any type inside the Local 393 union hall, the Local 393 union business office, or in the back patio area. No one shall ask for a vote or give support to a candidate in any way, including passing out campaign cards or wearing campaign buttons, etc.
Campaigning and electioneering may be done on the property outside the Local 393 union hall and the Local 393 union business office.
