It is an honor to announce that Brian Murphy has been selected are the new Director of the Training Center. Congratulations!

I am sure many of you are like me, in that our time at the Training Center is bittersweet. We work long days, then twice a week, we attend class at the Training Center. Although the camaraderie between our fellow classmates brought us some enjoyment, the director is the one person behind the scenes who engages with the Department of Labor, College Education Board, and collaborates with locals around the nation to ensure that UA Local 393 is at the forefront of workforce development. The hours required to keep things running smoothly for everyone is a job that never ends and takes a person who has an in-depth knowledge of how apprenticeships, business, and relationships are built and sustained.  

Brian’s skills are beyond the measure of excellence. Since Brian joined the Training Center as the Training Coordinator, he has led people to excel and brought out the very best in his team. Brian’s unique ability to lead has provided unique advancement in our workforce development during this pandemic, all while positioning UA Local 393 as a nationwide leader among the UA locals. 

I can think of no better person for this job than Brian Murphy.  I am looking forward to working with him in partnership with the future of our local.
