As a follow-up to the “Fighting Right to Work” summit held in June, the California Federation of Labor will host the first in a series of webinars on August 25 to provide new information and tools as we collectively work to build stronger unions in the face of federal threats. The first webinar is on AB 119, the new law mandating union access to new employee orientation as well as more accurate and timely employee information.

With the threat of Janus v AFSCME, and a Right to Work public sector nationwide, the tools now available through AB 119 provide unions access to ensure new hires understand the importance of being a full member of the union. This bill was a top priority for many unions, and thanks to our collective work, it was signed into law as part of the state budget.
